Reflections must be turned in during class. If you are unable to do this, you must make special arrangements with me personally, each time, in order to be able to turn the reflection in at all.
Reflections must be printed on ONE single sheet of paper. No stapled papers will be accepted. Reflections must be no longer that two pages--or two sides of one page. Reflections must be in a standard font, with standard margins. Reflections must be double spaced.
Reflections are worth 5 points each. If you turn in your reflection on time (during class!) and have clearly engaged with the questions, you will receive full points for it. I welcome the opportunity to meet with you to discuss any questions you may have about your reflections.
Reflection Questions
Remember you do not have to answer all of these questions. You don't have to write about any of them. You need to write about something closely related to the episode. If you have your own ideas about what to write about, feel free. FILL BOTH SIDES OF THE PAGE!
- In this episode, the family has a pet duck. Did you have pets growing up? Explain that situation in detail including how each parent felt about pets and you having them. Did you like having pets? Any lessons learned? Do you have pets now? Be sure and focus on how you felt about what happened.
- We see the dad (in this episode) at work. That happened in Andy Griffith as well, but didn't happen in the 1950s shows we watched. Discuss your parent's work. Did they like their jobs? What messages did they give you about working? Did you grow up understanding that work was great or drudgery? Did both parents work? Explain the situation in detail, being sure to focus on how you felt about what happened.
