Bewitched Reflection Assignment

Due May 22 in class

The episode "I Darin Take This Witch Samantha" can be found at youtube in three parts:

Reflections must be turned in during class. If you are unable to do this, you must make special arrangements with me personally, each time, in order to be able to turn the reflection in at all.

Reflections must be printed on ONE single sheet of paper. No stapled papers will be accepted. Reflections must be no longer that two pages--or two sides of one page. Reflections must be in a standard font, with standard margins. Reflections must be double spaced.

Reflections are worth 5 points each. If you turn in your reflection on time (during class!) and have clearly engaged with the questions, you will receive full points for it. I welcome the opportunity to meet with you to discuss any questions you may have about your reflections.

Reflection Questions
Remember you do not have to answer all of these questions. You don't have to write about any of them. You need to write about something closely related to the episode. If you have your own ideas about what to write about, feel free. FILL BOTH SIDES OF THE PAGE!

• This episode said a lot about women: what they are like, what role they should play. What is your opinion on gender roles, etc?
• Do Darin and Samantha have a solid basis for a successful marriage? What *IS* the basis for a successful marriage?
• How do you see the portrayal of this relationship as different from previous marriages we have seen in class?
